I ordered 2 sets, or 8 bowls. They are slightly small for soup, but work, and are great for desserts. I was surprised to see the insides are light blue, but it is not bothersome. The outsides are glossy glazed dark blue and work well with my 30-year-old Dansk Bistro stoneware.

What I like

1. stack easily and have a small profile on the shelf

2. beautiful muted black color

3. nice size for ceral and great for ice cream

4. my 5 year old granddaughter can handle them easily

5. neutral enough to go with my other dishes

I'm all about searching and searching until I find perfect things that will satisfy quality, price, and durability requirements, and these bowls are just that. These're my essential cereal bowls. I've had a set for a year now (they were sold at $16 then) and they've held up to spoons, forks, dishwashers, and bristles remarkably well.

Now that they're $12 and qualify for 4-for-3, I just bought another two sets to have around (I'm lazy about dishes). Microwave and dishwasher safe aside, they're absolutely the perfect size to fill up for exactly the right amount of cereal I want.

The bowls are very attractive(to me anyway). Thank god not one of them was broken when I opened the box. Hopefully if I take good care of them they will last a long time without chipping.(Only time will tell)
