Today was another productive day as far as training goes. I doubled-up on my strength training workouts doing an entire specialization workout on shoulders, and then another one on back. After my own training marathon followed by training a client, I headed back to TKMT for another hard thai session for the second day in a row. It was Edric’s class this time and he pushed us hard as expected. I think the hardest part might have been trying to remember the lengthy combos! hahaha.
As I pushed harder and harder today in both my training sessions, the frustrations over my damaged right wrist/hand (still not sure which it is yet), continued to mount. I wanted to lift more, but couldn’t hold a proper grip or go heavier without pain. I wanted to strike hard, but repeatedly found that I had to hold myself back from full strength punches. My clever strategy to accomplish this was to train without gloves on… only hand wraps. However, tonight I found my clever strategy to not be so clever afterall. I ended up still striking considerably as much as I tried not to, and have the evidence represented by bruises and scraps, left on my knuckles.
So, after two straight days of hard training, both muay thai and weights, I can’t move anymore. lol Ok, that might be exaggerating it a bit, but my whole body is sore. And to think, tomorrow morning I’m back at TKMT to teach a beginner class…. and then possibly my 3rd training session in a row after that.
Sometimes I don’t feel like going, I’m tired, I’m sore, I have other things to do… but I just need to get myself there and do it. And the more I do, I get into a rhythm and want to keep doing more. Even if I can’t train at 110%, 80% is better than nothing. So check your ego at the door and get in there and do your best…. even when you don’t want to. That’s what it takes to train to become a fighter.

A toy box can be simple in design with only one color or it can have your child's favorite television character painted on it. They can also be hand painted family heirlooms. Any type of container that stores children's toys can be considered a toy box. Since toy boxes are made for little people they are usually very sturdy and made of good quality. They can vary greatly in price depending on the style and material they are made of. Some toy boxes are made so they can be stackable and store easily and some are made to be part of a room's design. Nothing lights up a child's face brighter than walking into a room and spotting a toy box, they just love to dig inside and explore all the different treasures a toy box can hold. Of course getting them to put all the toys back inside they toy box once they are done playing with them can sometimes prose a challenge. There are some preventative measures you can take to make this less of a problem. First of all, you can do everything in your power to make the toy box special. One idea is to give it as a Christmas present. Wrap some presents up and put them inside the box. Then, wrap up the box and put it under the Christmas tree. Your child will love opening the box and finding the presents, and then opening each one. You can prompt the child to put the toys into the toy box until all the wrapping paper is disposed of so that they will not be thrown away. The child will see the logic of that. Another way to make a toy box special is to take your child on a shopping trip to buy the toy box of their dreams. Go through catalogs or go online with your child to get ideas before you actually do your shopping. Even small children like to have a say in the decoration of their rooms. They are more likely to keep them clean when they have pride in the part they played putting it together. A toy box can be a happy addition to a child's world.
